One of the greatest joys at Camp Rockmont is welcoming alumni back home.
Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting John “Tall Arrow” O’Kelley, who attended Rockmont as a camper in 1957 and served on staff in 1963. John returned with his gal, Vicky, to revisit the place that helped shape so many lifelong memories.
John’s connection to Rockmont became a family tradition. His sons also experienced life at the Rock:
- Mike O’Kelley – Camper (1982–1989), Staff (1990)
- Chris “Battling Barracuda” O’Kelley – Camper (1987–1993)
Seeing multiple generations of families continue their Rockmont story is one of the things that makes this community so special. Whether it’s been a few years or several decades, alumni always remind us that Rockmont isn’t simply a place—it becomes part of who you are.
John and Vicky, thank you for stopping by and sharing your time with us. We hope to see you back at camp again soon!
If you have photos or stories from your time at Rockmont, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us or join our growing alumni community at alumni.rockmont.com.
