James Michael (Mike) Coston, age 61, died unexpectedly in Las Vegas, NV, February 22, 2015.
Mike was born in DeLand, Florida, August 4, 1953, to James Clarence and Josephine G. Coston, Jr., graduated Charles D. Owen High School in Swannanoa, NC in 1971, received his BS Degree in Education from Appalachian State University in 1975, and Masters Degree in Administration from East Carolina University in 1977.
He worked for many years in the food and beverage franchising industry. Recently he lived in Las Vegas, NV where he worked in sales.
Mike will be remembered for his hands on, goal motivated team leadership where he successfully demonstrated and proved management results for entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 companies for the past 30 years.
Mike was a member of Central Christian Church in Las Vegas, NV and was a SCORE Certified Mentor in the Southern Nevada Chapter.
He loved sports; especially football, reading, and helping others achieve their goal. Mike was a great coach in sports, life, and business. He was the definition of a leader and was able to always find a positive side to all of life’s challenges.
Mike is survived by Christopher M. Coston (Laura) of Roswell, GA and Jonathan A. Coston of Roswell, GA, (sons of Debbie M. Coston), brother Steven G. Coston (Gail) of Apex, NC, sister Beverly A. Naten of North Hollywood, CA., 9 nieces and nephews, 1grandson, 1 great-nephew and the rest of his family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Clarence Coston, Jr. and Josephine G. Coston.
A private family service is planned for a later date.
